~~~~~~~ I AM NOT GONE ~~~~~~~~
I am not gone, I am changed.
Have faith and please believe me.
God did not take me away from you,
He split the skies and received me.
Now...
I'm an echo in your laughter,
a reflection in your tears,
an extra thread of strength
to help you overcome your fears.
I'm an added ray of sunshine,
more joy for you to share,
a fragrance of the life you live.
Wherever you are - I am there.
Soldiers of glory Oh praise our soldiers of glory, praise their valour and their mightPraise their life they put on the line for us every day and every nightFresh faced they go into battle as they leave their loved ones behindThey see neither fear nor danger as they go toward the frontlineIf there were to be memorials stacked up to heavens highIt would not do them justice for them sacrificing their livesWhere would we be without them I really just don’t know?Our lives would be so different now and all our dreams put on holdLike a mother that comforts her children keeping them safe and warmYou gave us our independence and kept us free from harmSo we all want to say a big thank you, there’s a debt that we’ll never repayGod bless you our soldiers of glory and god protect you now and always.
R.I.P
My brother is in afghanistan now..
one of his good friends died the other day and my brother had to carry his friend on his shoulder even tho he had already gone...
wish there was more we all could do to stop all of this
R.I.P all you heros
love to you all x
My Soldier Boy
My angel was a soldier boy
travelling far and wide,
He served his country faithfully
with his comrades by his side.
My soldier boy was just a child
when he signed up for the cause,
but little did we know that soon
he would be fighting in the wars.
He wore his uniform so proud,
and medals for all to see,
but little did I know quite soon,
he wouldn't come back to me.
So as he waved bye bye that day
We both stood there and cried,
and then that awful letter came
for his country he had died.
I sometimes smile, I sometimes cry
now that we are apart
I will never forget you soldier boy
You're always in my heart.
On Angel Wings
On angel wings you do fly
On angel wings into the sky
On angel wings i do cry
Because those angel wings took you away
On angel wings the heralds sing
Is there no such lovely thing?
On angel wings you fly away.
I will see these angel wings again someday
When i am old and my time has come
On angel wings I will fly
Until I'm holding you once again
Smiling on angel wings.
For All Those Who Paid The Ultimate Sacrifice, And Never Returned Home. And The Injured Soldiers That Have To Live With The Lasting Effects Of War.
THE FINAL INSPECTION
The soldier stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, you soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
